VILLA ERBA

It is located on the site of the former monastery of Santa Maria Assunta di Chornobio, the first mentions of which date back to the end of the 15th century, in the 19th century it became an aristocratic residence, and from 1882 it became the property of the pharmaceutical magnate Luigi Erba. He built a luxurious villa here, close to the lake. Later, in 1920, the villa was inherited by Carla Erba, Duke Visconti's wife, and her son Luchino Visconti. After 50 years, the famous film director worked here on the films "Ludwig", "Leopard".
